Information technology plays a key role in our ability to consistently provide accurate and cost-efficient solutions. With state-of-the-art technology, MSES offers California school districts the benefits of its Chemical Classification System (CCS). Developed over an 8-year period, CCS is a cross-platform environment featuring an easily searchable database of over 13,000 chemical reagents and compounds found in California's public school system. In fact, CCS Provider and CCS Client respectively, provide a level of compliance support that remains unsurpassed in the industry.
CCS Provider includes extensive information that is continually updated to produce current, accurate, reliable inventory surveys and compliance reports as required by the Education Code, California Code of Regulations, Health and Safety Code, California Occupational Safety and Health Act [Cal/OSHA], and California Environmental Protection Act [Cal/EPA]).
Codes supporting the guidelines and requirements for chemical procurement, storage and removal correlate directly with the most current edition of the Science Safety Handbook for California Public Schools, 1999 Edition. CCS also identifies chemicals and procedures to be claimed for reimbursement, under the State of California Mandated Cost Program.
CCS Client can also provide California school districts continuous support in the MSES Inventory Self-Maintenance Program. Accessing the Internet connection with a standard browser, end-users are able to record, track, analyze and report on chemical purchases, usage, inter-school transfers and removals within their own schools, as well as view inventories on a district-wide basis. CCS also features product maintenance tools including a chemical container label wizard that includes all data relevant to hazard warnings, accident recoveries and other information in compliance with regulatory codes. As the application service provider, MSES creates simplicity from what is normally complex by providing administrative and back-end support on CCS Client, freeing district personnel or school staff from the burden of performing program installations, upgrades, data backup, and other maintenance chores.
As a convenience, the non-platform dependency of the Web allows users to access CCS from any platform and from virtually any Internet connection, while maintaining a safe and secure environment that protects the security of your data and your confidentiality while online.
