Hazardous Waste Management - Science Laboratory Chemical Surveys
Reports
Accumulative Chemical Inventory
Codes supporting the guidelines and requirements for chemical procurement, storage and removal correlate directly with the most current edition of the Science Safety Handbook for California Public Schools, 1999 Edition. CCS also identifies chemicals and procedures to be claimed for reimbursement, under the State of California Mandated Cost Program.

Immediate Removal Chemical Inventory
Includes chemical reagents that pose a significant threat to the safety and health of teachers, staff, and students because they have reached a retrograde condition, Table 1 - Explosive Chemicals and Table 2 - Extremely Hazardous Chemicals for Prompt Disposal of the Science Safety Handbook for California Public Schools, 1999 Edition.
Removal Chemical Inventory
An itemized inventory list of:
Chemical reagents that are subject to regular removal and disposal based on approaching or reaching recommended shelf life (3-Hazardous Chemicals Reference Table)
Chemical reagents that pose a significant threat to the safety and health of teachers, staff, and students because they have reached a "retrograde" condition, Table 1-Explosive Chemicals and Table 2-Extremely Hazardous Chemicals for Prompt Disposal of the Science Safety Handbook for California Public Schools, 1999 Edition
Suggested Removal Chemical Inventory
An itemized list of chemical reagents not classified under the Science Safety Handbook for California Public Schools, 1999 Edition, but identified as potentially hazardous due to normal aging or by discontinuation based on known potential hazards. This report is the MSES recommendation for additional chemical reagents removal based on the inventory analysis.
Claimable Chemical Inventory
An itemized list of chemical reagents eligible for reimbursement of removal costs as mandated by the California State Controller's Office. Reimbursements are processed upon submission of the Reimbursement Claim form and proof of appropriate removal or disposal of the eligible chemicals.
Reconciled Chemical Inventory
The list of chemical reagents that remain in the storage room upon completion of required chemical removal. It reflects the total chemical items found during the current initial survey (Accumulative Inventory), minus all chemicals that have been physically removed from the site. If any removal exceptions were made, such as a school-petitioned retention of a specific item identified as a removal chemical, an Exceptions Report accompanies the Reconciled Inventory. The data reflects the inventory at the completion of Module 1 [Initial Survey and Removal] and serves as the starting inventory of Module 2 [Operations and Maintenance.
Claimable Chemicals Removed
A summary list of all chemical reagents found to be eligible under the "Removal of Chemicals" program administrated by the California State Controller's Office.
